Research content

We have been analyzing the polymorphisms in the genes of the humn blood groups such as ABO system and complement components. Besides many SNPs, we found two very rare polymorphisms, tentatively named sequence polymorphisms, in the 5’-upstream region of the ABO gene. In our study on the complement, we have detected some SNPs causing the C6 and C7 allotypes and genetically controlled C9-deficiencies.
