Research content
The aim of our basic research is to investigate both essential- hypertension related genes and atherosclerosis related genes, using human genome analysis. So far we identified about 50 hypertension susceptibility genes. We are now planning to create a program which forecast a future occurrence of hypertension as a preventive medicine program.
In clinical field, we investigate atherosclerosis, using both carotid ultrasound imaging and measurement of pulse wave velocity (PWV) as geriatrics. Furthermore, we study about standardization of discharge planning as well. In neurology, we perform a study about establishment of an information network mainly on nervous system incurable diseases such as ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and dementia.
We are now operating an anti-aging center (AAC) of Ehime university hospital, which started on February 14, 2006. Some personal data are provided for our research upon obtaining the subjects’ informed consent
